Abstract

To test the hypothesis about the possibility of growth of business based on digital platforms and to identify the levers for such growth, the author carried out a comparative analysis of business models and performance of two Russian IT companies of the same field. 1C and Galaktika, which are among the five leading players on the Russian market of corporate software, have created specialized digital platforms of technological solutions for the automation of accounting and management at enterprises in different industries, but at the same time they use different business models. The main lever of “1C” growth in unstable and dynamic environment – its multi-agency and multifunctional partner network, or ecosystem was highlighted. It is shown that the ecosystem business model of 1C ensured the rapid growth of the company and allowed it to closely approach SAP, and after its departure to take a leading position in the Russian market, leaving behind the nearest competitor – Galaktika by dozens or more times by all significant parameters. But at the same time there is a risk of “1C” market dominance.
