Abstract
The paper investigates the structure of continuous education system in the country, establishing that one of the most important problems of education system reform in Russia is its adaptation to the needs of middle-aged and older people. Currently, there are serious entry barriers to higher education for those groups, and the content and organization of the educational process do not meet the needs of the adult audience. The authors conclude that the State should rationally stimulate employers and citizens to receive additional education not only within the state structures, but also in private educational centers, corporate universities. In this case, the development of public educational programs for adults requires a serious preliminary analysis of the adequacy of knowledge to the life strategies of people.References
