Abstract

The article deals with the analysis of the possible consequences for Russia of the potential level of production of shale gas and shale oil in the world. It is shown that such effects may affect the energy security of Russia in the run up to 2030, under the impact of lower revenues from the export of Russian natural gas and a corresponding reduction of opportunities to develop new gas fields. The paper presents the main lines of measures to mitigate the possible consequences of a given threat.
