Abstract

Diagnostics of a condition of settlements in terms of socio-economic development is the relevant methodological problem. It has practical application in the policy of spatial development at the level of the subjects of the Russian Federation. On the basis of the municipal statistics database was built the rating of settlements of Sakha (Yakutia). As the study periods were chosen of 2006/2007 and 2010/2012, the analysis of which allows to obtain conclusions about the transformation of economic space in the dynamics for 6-7 years before and after the global financial crisis. Statistical analysis gave the actual typology of settlements. It helped to formulate the main conclusion that Sakha (Yakutia) needs a new concept of location of settlements which based on the principles of selective development.
