Abstract
The paper analyzes problems of evolution of the role and activities of investment companies at various stages of innovation, including the participation of the state. On the basis of mathematical modeling and analysis of the factors that contribute to the choice of investments in the policy of the company, the author comes to the conclusion that the viability and effectiveness of the company is determined not at the stage of investment, as any investment company seeks to increase investment risk up to the allowed limit in order to maximize profits, but at the stage of attracting investors, which makes participations distribution infrastructure a key element in investment process. The author highlights the current trends that determine the development of investment companies in the world, and on this basis makes recommendations for the provision of financing for innovative development of the Russian Federation through the mechanism of investment funds.
