Economic Growth and Economic Policy in Russia

Abstract

Contemplated are the issues of analysis and assessment of the current economic situation in Russia, the causes of deceleration of the rates of economic growth in 2013 along with the major drivers, limitations and potential of this growth in short, medium and longterm perspectives. The forecast scenarios and estimates of economic dynamics between now and 2030 are disclosed. The key role of increasing consumer consumption to support sustainable economic growth in the shortterm perspective and that of rising investments into fixed capital to provide for such a growth in the mediumand longterm perspectives are substantiated and emphasized. The list of priority measures to increase the effectiveness of the national economic policy in the near and midterm future is provided.
