Abstract

The paper examines the reasons for the rapid development of the global LNG industry over the past decade and Russia’s role in these processes. In Russia, the first LNG production facilities were part of global value chains, but ongoing regionalization processes and sanctions have led to their partial reorientation toward the domestic market. The author shows the prerequisites for the development of full-cycle LNG chains in our country, including on the basis of the formation of horizontal interactions in the economy. Given the continued export orientation of large-scale projects in Russia, new forms of liquefied gas monetization have been actively developed in recent years, regional LNG centers have been formed, the use of LNG as gas engine fuel and a source of autonomous gasification, as well as for the generation of heat and electricity, has been developed and stimulated.
