Abstract
Analyzing foreign literature and innovations in EU legislation, this study examines the process of organizing “green financing.” It covers procedures for assigning specific status to green bonds and standardizing their issuance, the principles of operation of the green bond reviewer institution, measures to counter greenwashing, and portfolio accounting for corporate green investments. Despite significant differences in the taxonomies of green projects, these areas of improvement in the legal field are also relevant for Russia. One of the most important innovations contributing to the green transition concerns commitments (incorporated in the terms of bond issuance) to achieve specific environmental performance targets by a certain deadline and penalties for failing to meet these commitmentsReferences
