Abstract

The authors critically review the content of the “Strategy of Spatial Development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 with a forecast to 2036”. The paper cites specific examples of inaccurate data, declarative nature of the set tasks in the absence of mechanisms for their implementation and scientific substantiation of the draft Strategy. The facts of insufficient elaboration of the sections characterizing the main trends and opportunities of spatial development of the Russian Federation and its priorities, changes in interregional disparities, strengthening the impact of scientific and technological progress on the spatial development of the Russian Federation are provided. The authors conclude that it is necessary to adjust the document with the involvement of academic science and the creation of a specialized scientific structure in the Academy of Sciences to study and support the Strategy of Spatial Development of Russia.
