Abstract
The Greater Tyumen Region produces 55% of Russia’s oil and over 86% of natural and associated gas, which makes it a classic resource region with its advantages and disadvantages. The development of the service segment of the oil and gas complex can put the resource sector and the region as a whole on an innovative trajectory. The technological solutions, equipment and materials developed by the oil and gas service are designed to ensure efficient exploration, production and transportation of hydrocarbons, serve as a basis for environmental safety of the resource sector, a guarantee of its high competitiveness and a driver of technological development. To establish a constructive dialogue between the oilfield services market players, coordinate efforts for its development, and stimulate cooperation ties, the Oil and Gas Cluster Association was established in 2017 in the Tyumen Region, which now unites more than 120 industrial and service enterprises, scientific and educational organizations. Alexander Vasiliev, development director of the Association, answers the questions of “EKO” about the situation in the industry and its development prospects.
