Abstract
In January 2022 Alexey Savvateyev, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor at MIPT and well-known popularizer of mathematics, published the Manifesto to save the mass school in Russia, which he prepared together with like-minded people. The document briefly outlines the problems of Russian general education, names the causes of the declining level of school leavers, and proposes a number of measures to remedy the situation and revive the former quality of the national school. In the present compilation we present the text of the manifesto (an abridged version with “ECO” explanations) and two papers on the problems of reforming education that develop and reveal its ideas. We invite readers and authors to join the discussion on the ways to develop Russia’s educational system as one of the key elements in shaping its future.
