Abstract

A veteran of the oil industry with 25 years of experience in Russian and international oil companies argues about the possible ways of development of the domestic oil refining industry. The author polemizes with the work of O. S. Anashkin “What should be changed in the strategy of development of Russian refining industry” and reviews the historical background of Russian refining complex structure, demonstrates the unfeasibility of measures suggested by his opponent to introduce state management at the enterprises of the industry and return to the principles of planned economy.
