Abstract

The aim of the article is to assess the level of competition in the segment of collective investment of pension savings. In particular, the characteristics of the market subjects are given, the main parameters of competition are determined according to the criteria of market share, financial product and market barriers, concentration indicators are calculated. The Herfindahl-Hirschman index made it possible to determine that despite the weakening of the level of monopolization, this market segment is still highly concentrated. It has been established that the decrease in the degree of concentration is due to the decrease in the market power of the insurer in the person of the Pension Fund of Russia. It has been proved (based on the application of the Lind coefficient) that a «narrowing» of the market and a concentration of pension savings are taking place in an increasingly limited circle of «core» subjects.
