Strategic Planning on the Municipal Level: Whim or Necessity

Abstract

The article covers strategic planning at the municipal level. The aim of the article is to determine the need for strategic planning in the municipalities of modern Russia. The tasks: to study the modern regulative basis of standards of strategic planning in Russia; to give some examples of the creation of strategic planning documents in the cities. The methods used: qualitative, comparative and systematic analyses, synthesis. As the result of the conducted study, there is the conclusion on the necessity of systems of strategic planning documents in Russian cities.
