Russia’s Far East Development under the New World Economic Environment

The paper analyzes two challenges of Russia’s TASED (Territories of Advanced Social and Economic Development) policy. The first comes from the changes in the world economic environment (structural crisis and changes in multilateral trading system and international production sharing scheme) and the second – from the very nature of Russia’s industry and circularity of its domestic links. There is weak participation of Russia’s enterprises with international production sharing networks though it has become one of the essential elements of any industrial policy. The author presents his recommendations on how to solve these problems in forming Russia’s TASED policy in the course of building the platform allowing the Russian Far East regions to integrate Asian-Pacific Region.

The paper analyzes the changes taken place in relations between economic structures and local people in transborder regions of Russian Far East and China, dependence of the Russian Far East regions on the trade with China, development of China’s agribusiness, international investments in agriculture, and transborder migration.

A New Round of Development in Eastern Russia and China Factors

Russia is faced an immediate task of solving economic and social problems of underdeveloped regions of Siberia and the Far East. One of the important factors of their development and main direction of inflow of investments is their cooperation with the neighboring Asian countries. Therefore, orientation to strengthening of ties with Asia-Pacific countries for the purpose of overcoming social and economic backwardness of Siberia and the Far East and development of their economic potential is a compelling need of Russia. The largest strategic partner of Russia in this region is China.

Money Supply: Precondition or Dope for Economic Growth?

The article deals with the interconnection between money supply and economic growth. It is demonstrated that the change of money supply is followed by the corresponding change of economic growth rate. Russian peculiarities of money supply and the reasons of its dramatic reduction are discussed in the article. The necessity of changing of M2 forming principles in the context of creating new stimuli for Russian economic growth is substantiated.

The Increase in Agricultural Production Instead of Sharing Resources

In the coming years in the world and in Russia expected faster growth of input of new capacity for the production of fertilizers compared to the demand for them that will lead to a serious strengthening of competition in international markets. In these circumstances, can clearly be identified the weaknesses of the domestic producers. The article analyzes their causes and the sources of advantages of Russian producers on international markets, the constraints to increasing production of mineral fertilizers, the efficiency of investment in the industry, opportunities to increase sales, including exports, as well as the tradeoff between capacity expansion for the production of products and capabilities of its sales.

The Global Culinary Space and Gastronomic Strategies of Cities of Russia

The author develops the theory of the global culinary space. The globalization creates the global culinary space, where the culinary traditions of many peoples of the world are combined. The empirical analysis of the popularity of different national cuisines leads to the conclusion that there is a hierarchy of culinary powers. The author singles out countries with different degrees of culinary sovereignty. The author considers the gastronomic strategies of cities of Russia. The most popular cuisines in the Russian culinary space are the Russian, Italian, Japanese, American and Chinese cuisines.

In article the analysis of processes of depopulation of the population of the Russian Federation on the example of the Irkutsk region is given, and also assessment of a condition of health care in Russia in the solution of problems of depopulation is offered. Types and features depopulation of the population of Russia are established. The situation of demographic processes in the Irkutsk region which is is considered as has shown the analysis a typical model of processes of depopulation in Russia. Modern steps to areas of a state and development of branch health care are analysed. Limitation of representation of measures of improvement of a health system without a state and the mechanism of functioning of public health is revealed.

Priority Social and Economic Development Areas in Factory-Based Towns

The possibility of creation of priority social and economic development areas in factory-based towns has been studied. The situation in factory-based town Yurga, Kemerovo region, has been analyzed, and the factors discouraging the successful complex investment plan implementation and the program of economical preferential treatment area creation have been studied. The program of creation of priority social and economical development area in factory-based town, based on detaching sectoral complexes (clusters) as key residents is introduced. The stages of municipal cluster creation and direction of cluster operation are described; the agro industrial cluster development prospects have been determined.

Russian-American Company and its Role in the Development of the Far East

The article analyzes the processes of formation of the Russian-American Company, the development of the share capital, the formation of the community of shareholders, as well as the activities of this company’s management bodies (Main Board and the colonial administration). It is proved that the main source of revenue of this organization was the fur trade. The company produces in Russian American colonies various types of fur (sea otters and cats, as well as otters, foxes, etc.). Analyzes the markets for furs, the most important of which were Russia and China, including seaports, as well as New York. Particular attention is paid to the activities of the Russian-American Company in the Far East of Russia. It is proved that it has brought great benefit to the region. Some areas (Amur region, Primorye, Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands) were attached to Russia with the direct participation of the company.
